Ride and Stride - Home
“Ride + Stride”, also known as the Sponsored Bike Ride, has become one of the most successful and popular annual fundraising events that help restore and protect historic churches and chapels across the UK. Last year, from Northumberland to Cornwall, more than 13,000 people cycled or walked around their local churches raising over £1.5 million. This year we expect nearly 10,000 churches to be open for Ride + Stride. By taking part you will help preserve both church buildings and the unique landscape that we all take for granted. During Ride + Stride you can explore the countryside and discover more about these extraordinary buildings. Churches are steeped in history and intrigue and for millennia have been centres of culture, arts and learning. In 2010 the Ride + Stride will take place on Saturday 11th September. To participate in this event, use the map to contact your County Organiser who will provide you with a sponsorship form. Then just make sure you ask your friends and family to sponsor you!
